Special Thanks
I dedicate this page to all the people who helped make Sexy Ladies
In the Making happen. Without you all, this dream would have
taken a looooooot longer to materialize…, perhaps as long as never!
The people and organizations I listed below are not necessarily
in the order of importance or even in the order of those who helped
me the most. Rather, I have chosen to list everyone in chronological
order, in the order they first appeared into the SLIM picture.
Here they are:
God – Hi God! You know what? The amount of thanks I owe
everyone is big, but in Your case, it is so huge that I
don’t even know where to start.
As far as I can remember, my earliest experience of You
was when I was 5 years old. I looked up at the spectacular
night sky, dazzling with millions of twinkling blue stars.
In that moment, I felt your closeness, I knew with certainty
that You existed, that You loved me, and that I am never alone.
Of course, this applies to all your Creation, whether we realize
it or not. Since that magical moment when You showed yourself
to me and I finally noticed You, You have always been right there,
beside me.
In general, life was smooth, but often times, as is most
people’s experience, things did not always go so well, there
were painful days and tough days, but through it all, You really
were my Light in the darkness, You kept me strong and showed me
a new way of looking at everything that happens. I just want
to thank you for being a true friend, and in fact, my Best
Friend. Now the time has come, for SLIM. This was an inspiration
that You literally flashed into my mind early one fall morning when
I went out for a walk as the sun was coming up. Instantly, I was
awe-inspired by the idea. You asked me, quietly and without words,
if I would? I did not even know most of the details or how or when.
But I trust You, so I said yes, God, I will, I always will with You
by my side. I said yes, despite knowing how, when… or any of the
details. It has been an amazingly delightful and sometimes downright
frustrating ride from then, up to this point. But now finally the
moment has come, and I suppose I am as ready as I ever will be.
This is my “Yes” to you, in action. I have done my part, now I
leave the rest up to You, to take SLIM to where You always intended
it to go. Thank you, a million times over, for everything – the big,
the small, and everything in between. You rock my world, and I like it.
Nitin Baby: My 6-year old cute little sweetie pie-pie.
Your father and I are truly blessed to have you in our
lives, far beyond what we can ever express with words.
I want to thank you for being the magnificent “you” that
you are. “If I could sit across the porch from God… I would
thank Him for lending me, you.”
Shirene & Jose - Aren't you
guys a cute couple?! Shirene, thank you for reading my first
ever write-up about Sexy Ladies In the Making in December 2004. You
were sincere in your comments,
and that was humbly encouraging. You are a great sounding
board and a real team player. Whenever it is that we meet
again, I have more to
discuss with you about SLIM. Jose, thanks for reading the
first "official" SLIM homepage. You were right, buddy -- it was "good, but too long".
And so, I made it longer!
Sailaja - Sailaja, thank you
for your honesty, your sincere and no-nonsense feedback, and
most of all for your friendship, in action -- a rare gift!
Sugandhy - Sug, thank you for never once
having made a sly or teasing comment about SLIM.
For your calm and trusting support of whatever activity
I am involved in, thank you.
Hema - Thank you for
trusting me in the initial stages by coming for our "meetings",
listening, and following through until the end. That meant a
lot to me, more than you probably realize. Best Wishes, Sexy Lady.
Derik Alex & Teambees, LLC. – Hi Derik! You were the
first to step up to the plate and offer to help when
you found out what I was up to. You did not say you will
help because you understood how this was going to be successful;
rather, you helped precisely because you did not understand, yet
it was something I really wanted to do, so you thought of helping.
Thank you for all your sincere time, effort, and help. You know what?
I’m glad I got to better understand that beneath the deceptive mask of
smoke, light booze, and super-atheist mentality, there lies a sharp
intelligence, a genuinely compassionate heart, a great designer, and
a guy who doesn’t exactly know programming, but somehow manages to
get his programmers to put out their best foot in the programming
world! In particular, the admin side is brilliant, and I didn’t
even have to ask you for it!!! To Dennis & Deyan: Although you
did not directly help with SLIM, you did help indirectly by giving
genuine encouragement and appreciation. Thank you all, you sure are
a unique bunch! And for those of you reading this, if you ever want
any graphic design work done or anything done related to creating a
website, checkout Teambees.com. If you like the look of
slimintegrated.com, then you will definitely like Teambees
for your design and other web creation needs too, for sure.
Mammen Oommen (aka, Joy): Hi Daddy!! If you’re reading this,
that means I actually, finally, finished SLIM! See, miracles
still do happen… Well Daddy, you were the first to convince me
(not necessarily tell me, but convince me) that I do have good
writing skills when you took that short story I wrote a decade
and a half ago and wanted to get it published. That took me by
surprise, and it was then that I began to suspect about both of
you that, hhmmm… you mean you’re not just telling me that because
you’re my parents??? Thank you for reading all the stuff I wrote
and making suggestions that had a strong impact, but somehow with
very little changes made. Thank you also for being SLIM’s Chief
Financial Officer, without me giving you a chance to accept or not,
and that too for free, at least until I am able to afford you! I
am soooo happy to have you onboard, even though you did not know
you were, not until the ship started sailing away! Keep those
cherished dreams of yours alive and shining, because I sense that
the opportunity to actualizing them is very close. Also, thank
you for that great gift you gave me when I was 14, Ageless Body,
Timeless Mind, by Dr. Deepak Chopra. That has been a highly
influential book in my life, because the message of the book
was something I had already been intuitively aware of, but to
actually read it from an outside source was awe-inspiring,
and that is really when my interest in the
whole health/nutrition/brain & mind-body connection began.
Oh, and you know what? “Joy” really is the perfect nickname
for you, because that is what you are! If I had to sum you up
in one phrase, you are the Anchor of my Life.
Philomina Mammen: Hi Mummy!! Can you believe it, I actually
did it, I finished SLIM!! You know, I can almost hear you
and Daddy sitting at the dinner table, shaking your heads
with big smiles and saying, “She actually finished something
she started! Praise God!” Well, of course it is not perfect
– or anywhere near that – but at least what can be called
“SLIM, Version 1.0” has finally been released! You started
telling your customers about slimintegrated.com before it was
ready, my Marketing and “PR” manager before there was anything
to make “P”! But you know what? That was sooo encouraging to
know that you believed in me and SLIM enough to tell like, REAL,
living human beings about it! And when you told me that although
some of them came back to report to you that the site was not really
“up yet”, I almost landed on cloud-9 with happiness when you told me
that they were really interested! That was unbelievably encouraging,
and I thank you for that. Do you know what one of the best gifts you
ever gave me was (this also when I was 14)? The framed paper which
contained the “The Six Musts of Success” and Think & Grow Rich, by
Napolean Hill. They’re both invaluable gifts that will last a lifetime.
If I had to sum you up in one phrase, you are the Spice of my Life!
Christina – Hi my one and only sister! You know what, watching
you exercise was really inspiring… in fact, your actions in
general are quite inspiring, especially the routine ones!! Back
to the exercise, I used to exercise that time also, but the difference
was, I was not consistent, and you were – no excuses, if’s, or but’s,
you just did it without making it a big issue. I am absolutely
fascinated by your social skills, although I don’t mind not having
any of it myself :~) Thank you for helping me write SLIM’s first
edition of its e-zine. I’m sure glad I got you for that, and the
timing for what was going on in your life was perfectly in sync
with what was happening in mine – it was meant to be! I am also
glad that Mummy, Daddy, and you all read through everything, and
voiced your thoughts; that was a big help. May you know you are
exactly where you are meant to be, and you are a blessing to those
who know you.
Jenson George & Media Interactive, Pvt. Ltd.– Hey my handsome,
ace-programmer of a husband! While Teambees is the one for
design (and yes, they do an excellent job in programming also,
but, how do I say it… my man’s better!), Media Interactive is
the one for your programming needs. Jens, although you stepped
up to the plate a little later - and I’ll admit, I also kept away
from asking for help since I wanted to take you up on your challenge
(wink!) - the simple fact is, your help was critically essential in
making my slimintegrated.com fully ready. Your own personal insight,
direction, and willingness to help with SLIM, as and when needed,
combined with the tremendous indirect help you provided through a
lot of your staff at Media, was and continues to be invaluable.
And about your 6-week programming training? Wow! You blew me away
with your superbly stunning style of teaching! I still can’t believe
how naturally and elegantly you took the dryness out of a subject
like computer programming (a subject that I thought I was going to
totally detest learning, but was determined to learn at least the
basics of anyway for the sake of finishing this website). Believe
me, I always knew - right from the time I thought “computer” meant
nothing more than a complicated, but fascinating, piece of machinery
that gobbled up and spit back out “0” and “1” (thanks for proving me
royally wrong about that!) – yes, I always knew (not thought, but knew)
that you were one awesome programmer, but it was really amazing to
actually experience it firsthand! You really brought life, magic,
and logical simplicity to the understanding of computers and the
whole programming world. The passion and depth of intimate understanding
for the subject with which you taught me and all the others at
Media really shined through. To my utter shock, the aversion I
initially had to the subject vaporized and I absolutely fell for it
- upside down - within less than 5 minutes of your first session.
It wasn’t easy for me to understand at first, but with you and your staff’s
patience - in particular, in the order that they taught and/or helped
me: Prasanth (below), Jaya (thank you for your patience with ASP!),
Sumi (thank you for getting us started with Flash, you spent a lot of
time on that!), Smitha (thank you for your relatively simple problems;
they gave me hope!), & Surya (thank you for that tip on the loops.
You only took about 3 minutes to clarify it, but it helped!) - the confusion slowly melted away and, my God, I
actually understood the subject I thought was awful! How exciting!!
I will always cherish and remember that experience. Also, thank you
for the nudging, and that story about how Bill Gates first released
the initial version of Windows, which he was able to improve upon
with the feedback he got from his customers. Now that was an inspiring
lecture-come-story (I was blessed with it when I kept on trying to
perfect slimintegrated.com, instead of just launching it and adjusting
it according to you, my members, input and needs). Thanks for everything,
you are a pretty unique guy.
Prasanth – Hi Prasanth, you’re quite an intelligent,
sincere, hard-working, and amicable young man! I wish
you success in whichever path you choose to pursue –
programming, event management, or maybe even both. Thank
you for your work on the Target Circle, because with that
Lindo and I had a great starting point, making it so much
easier just to begin. Keep in touch, maybe someday you
would be willing to manage some events for SLIM! Good luck in the future!
Lindo – Hi Lindo, one of
my two cousins at Media! Well, we started the training
at the same time, and now here you are managing slimintegrated.com
and other projects of mine from the day after our training ended!
Thank you for your patience, sincerity, willingness to learn
and improve, intelligence, and overall humble, considerate
and easy-going nature. I am really happy you are working
on my special project. Thank you for everything, and you
really are a pleasure to work with!
Renju – Hi Renju, my other cousin at Media! You spent a lot
of time and sincere, dedicated effort doing the things that
I asked of you, both with slim and other personal tasks,
and I really appreciate it. Yes, you are patient, whether
you agree or not! Even after burning 3 hard disks and 2
flash drives (…I know, I know, “you” did not do it!
I couldn’t resist inserting this though…!), I definitely
like your versatile intelligence, and friendly and caring
nature. Thanks for all the help, especially for getting
me and Lindo “unstuck” from that Target page issue in between.
May you shine as brightly as you are capable of.
K.S. George & Reasamma Jacob: Hello Achachan & Amma!
I wanted to thank you for your understanding and quiet
acceptance of whatever I am doing here, even though you
may be very curious or you may not necessarily know what
I am up to. I appreciate not being asked, because I first
prefer to do something, and then talk about it (main reason
being not because it is a big secret or anything, but… what
if I don’t finish?!!!!!). Achacha, thank you for your loving
nature and “deal with all the children in the same way” attitude.
Amma, thank you so much for waking up every single day and cooking
delicious, fresh, variety, hot and healthy food so that we can all
do our jobs better! It is a lot easier to work with a happy stomach,
than an growling one! You both are a delightful team.
